About the service
Is The Eleven Standard a dental clinic?
No. And that distinction is deliberate.
The Eleven Standard is an independent dental concierge and treatment-coordination service. Dental treatment is provided by the clinic and dental professionals responsible for your clinical care.
What does The Eleven Standard actually do?
We assess clinics against our published eleven-point standard, help coordinate your case with an appropriate provider and make the process easier to understand before you commit to travelling.
Why shouldn't I simply contact an Istanbul clinic directly?
You can.
Our service is designed for patients who would rather not select a clinic solely from advertising, reviews or price comparisons. We provide an additional layer of clinic assessment, transparency and treatment coordination before you make that decision.
Why Istanbul?
Istanbul has a large private dental sector and attracts international patients for complex restorative and cosmetic dentistry.
Our role is not to claim that Istanbul dentistry is inherently better than dentistry elsewhere. Our role is to identify providers that meet our criteria and make the process easier for an international patient to assess.
Is cheaper treatment the main reason to use The Eleven Standard?
No.
Cost may be relevant, but our positioning is based on provider selection, clarity and coordination — not finding the cheapest available treatment.
If the lowest possible price is the primary objective, The Eleven Standard is unlikely to be the right service.
Clinic selection & independence
How do you select the clinics you work with?
We review areas including licensing, clinician credentials, facilities, diagnostics, treatment-planning processes, materials, pricing transparency, consent procedures and written warranty or remedial terms.
A commercial relationship alone does not qualify a clinic to work with our patients.
How does The Eleven Standard make money?
We believe patients should understand how we are compensated.
Our fees and commercial relationships are disclosed transparently, and no clinic is introduced to a patient solely because of a commercial arrangement. Commercial relationships do not replace or override the clinic-selection criteria set out under The Eleven Standard.
Are you independent if you work commercially with clinics?
Independence should not mean pretending that commercial relationships do not exist.
For us, it means that a commercial relationship does not automatically qualify a clinic to receive patients. Clinics must first satisfy the criteria we publish under The Eleven Standard.
Treatment & planning
Who decides what treatment I need?
The treating dental professional does.
The Eleven Standard does not diagnose patients or prescribe dental treatment. Our role is to coordinate the process and help ensure that the proposed treatment and provider information are clearly documented.
Can I speak to the dentist before I travel?
Where appropriate for the case, we arrange for clinical information to be reviewed before travel and coordinate communication with the proposed treatment provider.
Final treatment decisions may still depend on an in-person clinical examination and appropriate diagnostics.
Can my treatment plan change when I arrive?
Yes.
Remote assessments have limitations. Findings from an in-person examination or additional imaging may lead the treating clinician to recommend a change.
If that happens, the reasons, alternatives and any change in cost should be explained before additional treatment proceeds.
Will you recommend veneers, crowns or implants because I ask for them?
Not automatically.
A patient's preferred treatment is not the same as a clinical indication. The treating clinician must determine whether the requested procedure is appropriate and explain reasonable alternatives where relevant.
What happens if the dentist discovers that I need additional treatment?
No additional procedure should simply be assumed.
The treating clinician should explain why it is being recommended, what alternatives exist, any additional risks and the additional cost before you decide whether to proceed.
How many days will I need to stay in Istanbul?
There is no responsible single answer for every patient.
The appropriate length of stay depends on the procedure, treatment stages, healing requirements and the clinician's assessment. Your proposed schedule should be discussed before travel.
Cost & travel
Will I know the total cost before travelling?
You should receive a written quotation based on the information available before travel.
It should explain what is included and identify known circumstances that could result in additional treatment or cost. Where an exact clinical determination cannot be made until examination, this should be made clear in advance.
Are flights, hotel and transfers included?
This depends on the package or arrangements selected for your case.
Any travel or accommodation services included in your quotation should be clearly identified separately from clinical treatment.
Results, warranty & concerns
Do you guarantee the result?
No responsible healthcare provider or coordinator should promise a guaranteed clinical or aesthetic outcome.
Dental treatment carries biological and clinical variables. What we can do is make the selection, documentation and coordination process more structured and transparent.
What does a dental warranty actually cover?
It depends on the individual clinic's written terms.
A warranty may contain conditions, time limits and exclusions. We therefore expect any warranty or remedial-care terms being offered to be provided in writing so that you can understand what is — and is not — covered before treatment.
What if something goes wrong during my stay?
Clinical concerns are handled by the treating clinic and clinician.
The Eleven Standard remains your coordination point and can assist with communication and escalation between you and the treatment provider.
For an urgent medical or dental situation, appropriate clinical or emergency care takes priority over the concierge process.
What if I am unhappy with the result?
Clinical outcome, aesthetic dissatisfaction and a clinical complication are not necessarily the same thing.
The concern should first be documented and reviewed by the treating provider. Any applicable remedial terms should then be assessed against the written treatment and warranty documentation.
